Sambal Sotong

The Ingredients

  • 2-3 large chillies (decoration)
  • 2-3 shallots (crushed)
  • 2-3 cloves of garlic (crushed)
  • 2 inches Ginger (pounded)
  • 150 gm Cili Giling MAZ
  • 2-3 tablespoons of cooking oil
  • 500 gm squid


  • Heat the oil, stir-fry the pounded ingredients until crisp.
  • Add 150gm Cili Giling MAZ, stir-fry until the oil breaks.
  • Add the cleaned squid and season with salt and sugar.
  • Leave until the squid is cooked and add the red onion slices.
  • Garnish the dish with a large chili and it's ready to serve.
